In 1993 Karen Bradbury and Michael Benavente started working together in an industry they are both still a part of today.
There are many reasons we both love the watch & jewelry industry but one of the main reasons are the incredible people we meet and work with each day.
The industry's success is based on many amazing stories about entrepreneurs, families, brands, stores and of course, people.
One of these special entrepreneurs and industry leaders was Sol Meller.
Known as "Uncle Sol" to longtime Feldmar Watch Company patrons, staff and vendors he was the consummate salesman. In 1972, the former attorney joined the Feldmar family business and is credited with the continued growth of the family-run Los Angeles based Feldmar Watch Company into a century-old, fourth-generation retailer of luxury timepieces. He loved everything about the business but most important to him was that his customers loved their purchase and would return back as loyal customers.
This past November Sol passed away from a six-month battle with pancreatic cancer. The family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Concern Foundation.
To honor Sol, we will be running the LA Marathon as a team raising money in memory of Sol. He was a man who lived and extraordinary life, he lived life to its fullest enjoying everything LA had to offer but he never ran the streets of LA, so we want to do that for him in his honor and memory.
We have created this page to raise money in memory of Sol Meller.
He and his family were inspired by the work of CONCERN FOUNDATION and wanted to support them in their efforts towards cancer research.
The Concern Foundation is an independent, volunteer-driven organization conceived in 1968 by a group of friends who wanted to make sure their dollars counted in the fight against cancer.
With 90-95% of net proceeds going directly to research, Concern has raised more than $57 million dollars and funded 750 cancer research scientists studying cancer, primarily in the areas of cancer genetics, cell biology, and immunology.
Please help us help them by giving whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button. The more people that know about CONCERN FOUNDATION, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family.
Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
